Car rental booking is now made easier with our new reservation system, providing real-time availability information, online payment and instant confirmation.
1/ Check availability - select Pick-Up Date & Location, Return Date & Location, enter your age, and you will see a list of available vehicles and prices.
2/ Select the vehicle of your choice. Press the “Book Now” button.
3/ Choose rental options (if any), add discount coupon (if applicable), fill in driver details. Check the box, confirming that you have read the Terms and Conditions and then press “Confirm Booking”. A summary of your booking with payment details will appear. Please review the details and if all is in order, press “Confirm Booking”.
4/ Complete the payment information. The system navigates to a ‘Thank you’ page and sends you an automatic email listing all the services you booked. Your booking is confirmed and the vehicle is reserved if payment has been completed successfully.
Important note: Reservations without completed payment are still processed but considered pending. Within 12 hours of receipt of the pending reservation we will contact you to clarify details and payment options. Please note, however, for unpaid reservations type of vehicle and price may change subject to availability.
The car rental is subject to the terms of the Car Rental Agreement executed between the Renter and Renaissance Rent a Car at the time of the car pick-up.
Pricing is quoted on a ‘per day’ basis (24 hour period). Our inclusive rates include collision damage waiver (CDW), fire and theft waiver (FTW), third party liability (TPL), road tax, unlimited mileage, additional driver, VAT.
The vehicle must be returned to the drop-off location specified in the contract in the same condition as when it was picked up by the renter. It is the responsibility of the renter to ensure that the vehicle is thoroughly checked prior to picking up the vehicle. The client accepts responsibility for taking due care and attention of the vehicle. Failure to do so and loss or damage to the interior and exterior of the vehicle is deemed negligent and responsible for the charges as listed in the damage matrix.
Whilst in charge of the vehicle the client accepts responsibility for maintaining the roadworthiness of the vehicle and agrees to take remedial action to avoid unnecessary cost/damage. This will include maintaining oil levels, tire pressures and other common sense actions to maintain the vehicle. Should a cost is involved, the required action needs to be communicated with the rental company.
Cancellation of your reservation should be made by email or text/viber/whatsapp message at least 24 hours prior to the start of your rental. Please note that telephone cancellations will not be accepted.
There are no cancellation charges for bookings cancelled up to 24 hours prior to rental. For bookings cancelled less than 24 hours of rental, the cost of 1 day rental is due.
PERSONAL AND DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
The required minimum age to rent a vehicle is 25 years for Van and Cabrio vehicles, and 21 years for all other vehicles. Customers must present at the time of rental: a valid driving license, issued at least 2 years prior to the day of rental, passport, and a credit card. Personal and driving requirements apply to all additional drivers.
INSURANCE INCLUDED IN RENTAL RATES
Third Party Liability Protections (TPL) covers the driver’s liability to damage of property, excluding the rented vehicle.
Fire and Theft Waiver (FTW) covers the driver’s liability for costs incurred by fire or theft of the rental car.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) limits the driver’s liability up to the amount of the security deposit in the event that the rental car is damaged. This protection applies to authorized drivers only.
The insurance does NOT cover damage to the tires, rims, underbody of the vehicle, lost documents and keys of the vehicle.
The insurance does not apply to any of the following:
Bodily injury or property damage arising out of the use, or permitting the use of the rental vehicle:
• By any driver other than the renter or an authorized driver;
• By any driver while under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
• For any illegal purpose;
• For paid carriage of people or property;
• To tow or propel any other vehicles;
• In any race, contest or training activity;
• Off-road or an unpaved roads that are not regularly maintained or;
• By violation of the rental agreement.
A security deposit is required at the beginning of the rental.

We accept payment by cash, bank transfer, credit or debit cards. We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa and Mastercard). American Express and Diners are not accepted.
In the event of a breakdown or accident, the driver must contact Renaissance Rent A Car immediately for instructions and assistance. It is highly recommended to call the police even for the smallest of damages. A protocol from the police, car documents and keys must be presented for the insurance to be activated. If the driver fails to act accordingly, s/he may be charged for all damages incurred as a result. If an accident is caused by a driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or in any other circumstances in which the insurance coverage is excluded, the driver shall be responsible for all the damages incurred to the car rental company.
Only the main driver is covered to drive the rental vehicle but additional drivers can be added to your booking free of charge.
We operate “full-to-full” fuel policy, which means that all cars are delivered with full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank of fuel from a petrol station no more than 10 km from the car rental branch. Proof (receipt) is required when the car is returned. If the car tank is not full, a refueling charge of 10 EUR applies in addition to the cost of the missing fuel.
Unlimited mileage is included in the rates for all cars.
VAT in Bulgaria is 20% and is included in our rates.
Road tax (vignette) is included in our rates.

WIFI AND GPS
WiFi tablet with internet is 3 EUR per day
Baby seat (0-18 months), child seat (1,5-5 years), or child booster seat (5+ years) is 10 EUR per rental, regardless of the duration.
DELAYED COLLECTIONS/ NO SHOW POLICY
Reservations will be held for 30 min from the specified reservation time after which they will be considered a no-show, unless the client informs the company for the delay. If a client arrives after this time then a vehicle is not assured. We will do everything possible to provide a vehicle. This may include offering a different vehicle and rates may be different to the original booking.
At an airport location, if a customer experiences flight delays (and a valid flight number is provided) then no surcharge will apply. It is the responsibility of the customer to inform the car rental company if a flight is missed.
No refunds (partial or full) will be given for rentals ended early.
We will do our best to extend the car rental where possible or offer an alternative vehicle. Please note that it may not always be possible to guarantee car rental extension.
It is the responsibility of the renter to cover the cost of any parking fines and traffic violations. In case of such fines, Renaissance Rent a car submits the renter’s documentation to the respective authority.
Vehicles can only be used on the territory of Bulgaria. For driving in EU, special permission is required and authorization. Charges and restrictions apply.
If the vehicle requires more than the usual standard cleaning on its return to restore its interior to its pre-rental condition, allowing for fair wear and tear, a valeting fee of 45 EUR will apply.
OUT OF HOURS CHARGE
If the Pick Up or Drop Off time is outside the opening hours of the location, 30 EUR charge applies.
Renaissance Cars operates a no smoking policy for all vehicles. If you have smoked or allowed smoking within the vehicle – 50 EUR charge applies. This includes allowing cigarette (or cigar) smoke or ash into the vehicle, which would imply the above.
30 EUR charge applies for allowing pets inside the vehicles.
The driving direction in the Republic of Bulgaria is on the right hand-side of the road. Traffic rules and regulations in the country comply with the European Standards.
In urban areas, the maximum speed limit is 50 km/h. Out of town drivers should not exceed 90 km/h. On the highway, the speed limit is 130 km/h. /there are no toll highways in Bulgaria yet/. In case of exceeding the specified limits, drivers are held responsible. Fines vary according to the speed violation.
Blue Zone, short stay paid parking scheme is in effect in the city centers and tickets are available.

Renaissance Rent A Car treats all information collected on this website as confidential. We respect and take the privacy of our customers very seriously. The information we collect may be used to complete and administer the car rental booking.
We may also use this information to compile a broad profile of visitors who access and book via the website. Please note that all information is aggregated, therefore no identifiable individual or company information is shared with other parties.
Renaissance Rent A Car will only disclose data in a way compatible with the purposes for which it was obtained. We do not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested. We may use your data in order to detect and prevent fraud.
Information for the processing of personal data – Article 13 of the EU Regulation (2016/679)
Responsible of processing – your personal data is collected, recorded and processed by our company “Renaissance”Ltd., Tax ID: BG102008566, with registered office in Bulgaria, 8000 Burgas, 37 Oborishte Street.
Purpose – legal basis of processing: Your personal data are collected, maintained and processed under this contractual relationship or any other relevant agreement or service as follows:
- to carry out the lease and manage our business relationship (e.g. contact with you, customer service, etc.). The legal basis of processing data is the performance of our contract (e.g. delivery of a vehicle, charging, etc.) or the legitimate interest of our business to ensure more efficient delivery of required services;
- we may store your personal data relating to the occurrence of a transaction-related event – or other authorized driver – if we estimate that the result of the incident rendered by you – or another authorized driver – is hazardous to future leases. The legal basis for this is protecting our employees and other individuals and their property, by estimating your previous transaction behavior – or other authorized driver – unless your legitimate interest prevails;
- to verify your personal information – and / or other authorized driver – through credit institutions, relevant authorities, fraud prevention agencies. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, unless your legitimate interest prevails;
- in order to provide details of any road accidents in which you have been involved - or other authorized driver – to insurance companies, judicial and police authorities. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest, whenever is necessary, for the establishment, exercise or defense of our legal claims;
- to transfer your personal data to Public Authorities to comply with road traffic legislation. The legal basis for this is to comply with our legal obligation where this is necessary and to read your personal data to relevant tax authorities, debt collecting agencies and other authorities for the purpose of conclusion and performance of the contract, compliance with our legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in collecting your due debt to our company.
Data storage time: Our company, Renaissance Ltd. maintain your data for commercially reasonable periods of time or according to the laws and policies. Information collected for a specific purpose will only be used for this purpose, and after a reasonable period of time it will no longer be actively stored as this purpose is fulfilled. However, dormant data may continue to be used for statistical purposes, marketing and archiving purposes, and for other analysis purposes.
Your rights: You have the right to access and transfer your personal data; to correct your personal data (in cases it is inaccurate or incomplete); delete data in cases where our company no longer has a legitimate reason to process them; limitation of your data; objection in processing of your data for certain purposes.
